Trumansburg firefighters were dispatched to Waterburg Road near Brook Road for a vehicle fire, at about 11:00AM Friday. First arriving units found a plow truck from Perfect Cut Landscaping, that was heavily involved. The driver stated that he was driving towards the intersection when he realized that there was heavy smoke coming from under his truck. When he brought the pickup to a stop, it erupted in flames. Engines 1804 and 1801 responded to the scene with five members and they and other members already on scene, had the incident under control in minutes. TFD day staff EMS stood by and assisted with traffic in the area too. Tompkins County Sheriff's Department investigated and Trumansburg PD diverted traffic away from the scene. Koskinen's Collision took care of vehicle removal. All units were in service by noon.
